Major Institutions
Major record labels are the globally massive companies that sign major artists and get them into the mainstream music industry, help them reach the charts and gain them a large audience.





 Minor Institutions
Minor record labels are independent companies which are not part of the major institutions and struggle to get their songs mainstream. Because of this, more low key indie bands tend to be signed to these and they only get a small audience of people who are in to low key bands of this genre. A great number of artists and bands begin as part of an independent label.
